Trip to the Cloisters with Mom!

Hanging out with Mom, now in her 79th year, at the Cloisters.

Over the last few years, we've seen a lot of Medieval Art, Musee Cluny in Paris, the art of Spain, and Italy last summer.  We always love seeing art with Mom.  Its part  of what we all do together, go see art - in Portugal two summers ago, Ireland, where we saw the Book of Kells, or the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft Worth.
With frescos from Burgos, where we spent a couple of days during the Camino hike of 2015, the trip shook up memories, reminding us where we've been, getting us excited for next summer's excursion, a week near Avion, France with Mom and then another six weeks of hiking and exploring the East. So we walked and Mom shared ideas and reflections on the works.  Exploring such spaces, Mom is most alive in such spaces, she always has been, even now, after retiring from teaching.

"This work started the Northern Renaissance," Mom smiled, taking in the sight.
We had a grand day together.  Its always special exploring these treasures with her.
